Since the recent opening of the $3.5 million Physical Medicine and Stroke Center, housed in the Neuroscience Institute at NorthShore Regional Medical Center, patients with severe physical losses have a new resource.
The Physical Medicine and Stroke Center, conveniently located in a separate facility on NorthShore’s campus, offers advanced technologies in an updated environment to complement the skill of our physicians and allied health professionals. With a comprehensive team approach, citations for quality and all-private rooms, the Physical Medicine and Stroke Center gives patients advantages in regaining lost function.
“We deliver aggressive full-service treatment for many serious conditions requiring inpatient rehabilitation care,” explains Abdolreza Vadiee, MD, Medical Director. “We treat stroke, spinal cord injury, amputations, burns, brain injuries, multiple trauma, birth deformities and neurological disorders.”

Each patient receives a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan. Rehab care is enacted in a timely manner--in some cases when patients present in Emergency. Patients may see an array of many health professionals as they work to achieve specific goals. Speech, physical and occupational therapies, and support from other health professionals, are intensive and focused. In addition, patients and their families receive support and social services that help them work toward recovery, adapt to change and find resources they need.
