   Visiting Hours

Your family and friends are welcome in most areas of the hospital during daily visiting hours between 9 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Children under the age of 12 are generally not permitted to visit patients in rooms above the first floor.

Some of our units have special visiting hours because of the critical nature of the work being done there. For example, Intensive Care Units have special visiting arrangements. Only the immediate family members can visit ICU. Visiting hours have been set up to optimize the quality of patient care. Visits in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Coronary Care Unit (CCU) are limited to ten minutes. Only two visitors at a time are allowed in the ICU/CCU and must be at least 12 years of age.

    Visiting hours in ICU/CCU are:

  • 10 a.m.to 12:30 p.m.
  • 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Newly admitted ICU/CCU patients will be allowed visitors as soon as the nursing staff has had time to complete admission procedures. Plants, flowers, and balloons are not permitted in the ICU/CCU.

A visitor’s lounge is located near ICU/CCU on the second floor. Also, a lounge for Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) visitors is located adjacent to the unit on the first floor. Since sleeping is not permitted in waiting rooms, we ask that you not bring cots, sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, or food into this area.

Any exceptions to the visitation policy are made only with the approval of the Nursing Unit Director or the House Supervisor.

Also, so that patients can receive proper attention, we request that visitors leave the patient’s room while the doctor is there or when treatment is being given.
