Mary Beth Cooper, Director of Clinical Quality Improvement/Director of Emergency Services, has been named Manager of the Year for 2007 at NorthShore Regional Medical Center.
Cooper has been affiliated with NorthShore Regional Medical Center for six years. She started in 2001 and has served as Director of Emergency Department, Quality and Case Management. Cooper currently serves as Joint Commission Coordinator for the hospital and is the Chair of the Quality Team. She is a past Chair of the Physician Satisfaction Team.
Cooper enjoys the challenge of her position, to always improve how things are done to deliver care more safely and more cost efficiently. She believes in providing the highest standards of care to the community and strives daily to strengthen awareness, knowledge and communication skills to work as a team with the clinical and physician staffs. Cooper says the secret to her success is “stepping up to challenges, being active in as many areas as I can, and enjoying every minute along the way. We don’t have a lot of time to make a difference so I don’t waste a single great opportunity.” more
In addition to her routine duties, Cooper enjoys volunteering with NorthShore Regional Medical Center-sponsored health fairs and screenings. She finds these events rewarding and an opportunity to meet different people in the community.
Outside of NorthShore, Cooper enjoys spending time with her family and pets, and supporting the American Heart Association.
Managers of the Year at NorthShore Regional receive a special certificate, a $1,000 gift check, and placement on a manager of the year plaque that is displayed in the hospital.
