What is NorthShore MedComp?
NorthShore MedComp is a workers’ compensation program at NorthShore Regional Medical Center, designed to get injured employees back to work as soon as possible.
What it isn’t:
MedComp is not an insurance plan -- it is simply a tool to help your employees return to work as soon as possible.
What discounts are available?
One of the most important benefits of being a MedComp client is that you will receive significant discounts when you send an injured employee to NorthShore Regional Medical Center. The state already gives an automatic 10% off of the fee schedule. NorthShore Regional Medical Center is currently extending an additional 25% off the Louisiana State Workers’ Compensation Fee Schedule on any outpatient care. That’s a combined total of 32.5% off total billed charges.
Accelerated return to work:
Another benefit is our ability to provide quick tracking of all injuries. Anytime one of your employees is seen in our ER, clinic or specialist’s office, you will receive a work status treatment report from the respective facility/clinic. This work status report provides you with a legal benchmark that documents such things as the employee’s return to work status, medications prescribed, drug test performed, limitations/recommendations. The ER will also provide a copy of the doctor/nurse’s notes as well as the work status treatment report.
Is there a fee to participate in this service?
There are no fees for participating in NorthShore MedComp. MedComp is available to help you avoid injuries or to help accelerate your employee’s return to work. The NorthShore MedComp agreement is non-binding so you can withdraw at any time.
